Narrative Poems
#narrative
Narrative poetry is a style of poetry which tells a story. Narrative poems aim to draw the reader into the imagination of the author, to immerse them in the story being told. Narrative poems are usually written in metered verse, but do not have to follow any particular rhythmic pattern.
Red Lion’s Ire
- Red Lion’s Ire -
When the rains came down over gray rocks,
And the knights in their armor bright arrayed…
Could not withstand, either steel or dragon fire:
And withered on their belts were maiden locks.
It was then that fear, upon bold hearts preyed,
For they dared to cross the Red Lion’s hot ire.
The Lion had lain with the Dragon, long before…
And when the knights of their rivals came to bear,
The ravens feasted well, upon bones of the slain!
But the Red Lion and the Dragon wanted more,
So countless kingdoms, their banners did share.
But...

Witches Spell
Let it rain with lemon pepper
And clear it out with a heart of a heifer
At the sound of a bullets bang
And the cry of a stab from a wolf’s fang
With the burns of the scorching vinegar
As the ashes fall from the broken cigar
Pour down the waters from up above
As the sweet victory and mercy of love
Can hum a tune of his last days about
As soon as the light from the candle blows out
Watches as his enemy falls down
Knowing Macduff has won the crown
On the ground, Macbeth lays
Thinking about his savage days
For there’s no sympathy...

DECET DIABOLUS PRINCEPS
NAM EA EST
SUPER
FAIRYTALE
She lays on a carpet of freshly fallen snow,
Pale skin matches the frostiness around her.
Raven hair splayed out on the ground,
For her the fairytale is now over.
Her existence in visions
Have left me blinded
By her gleam.
She once was sleeping
A beauty under the spell
Of living death.
But too soon it was over
For she could not last
The dreadful winters.
The saints have slain
Those in the rain,
Left behind.
The Princes have gone, ...

The Wall and the Mountain
I've lived and died on the surface
of the planet and now, drenched in
coagulating blood I walk with no belongings.
Keep the faith!
Amongst the teachers of mystic light, and white
glory found in the dark inner caves beyond diamond
and coal then bedrock and fire.
The road did melt with waving heat
and my shoeless feet trudge on because I'm lighter
than i used to be.
And all at once I saw a great wall.
The wall was great in size and terrible to behold,
And men of every tribe and nation, and kindred
and...

Cursed
Was love enough to break this curse?
Only in the children’s version
So I’ll tell you what really occurred
They came to the castle prepared for a fight
They’d already hung a noose around his neck
A war they wanted and a war we’d give
It was hunker down time and hunker we did
We gathered our supplies to battle their pitch forks and knives
They didn’t see us coming
Expecting to win but how wrong they were
Love conquers all is what we’ve been told
True or untrue I guess we’ll see
Can our love so true conquer their crew?
Our fight has...

Run with the unicorns
I was the warden of the last flock of unicorns
Watched them day and night
Found the greenest luscious places for them to feed
I sang and told fairytales - all their to fulfil their needs
Glittering manes glowing under the full moons supervision
Their nostrils peacefully taking the clear dark blue air in and out
Thinking about my past I forgot that this story is not meant for unicorn ears
And I sang about you
About our love which never had a chance.
About the pain which has became a constant companion.
About the longing that eats...
