Drug Addict Hypocrisy

I’m really getting tired of addicts judging other addicts based on the drug being used and it's frequency. For me, a drug is a drug. And an addiction, is an addiction. We all have our opinions on which poison is the best method to slowly kill ourselves with and for the stoners who feel like they’re so much better than us-- grow up.

Why are we wasting time hating each other when we’re all stuck in the same fucked up world? We all have days spent re-sending text messages and making phone calls, just to have someone hit you up hours later and make you waste half your life in a Safeway parking lot to hand you a small bag of something that almost never lives up to your expectations. The tweakers hate on the skinny rich girls snorting coke because meth is more "cost efficient" and they stay high for longer than 15 minutes, for half the price. The heroin addicts laugh at the tweakers at home taking apart computers, only to realize they're not able to put it back together.. or vacuuming the inside of their vacuum. But laugh all you want now because the meth addicts will have the last laugh when you’re sitting on the couch, drooling on yourself and falling asleep in your Cheerios. And the pill heads will judge all the rest from the floor where they’re sitting surrounded by foil and black stains on the carpet, bragging about getting their drugs from grandma's medicine cabinet.

We’re all just fucking up our bodies and losing our minds. We decriminalize these drugs in order to make ourselves believe what we're doing is acceptable and justified. Truth be told-- we're criminals, like it or not. We're a bunch of people who are unable to cope with reality and the real world, seeking the easy way out.

The more comfortably common syringes, foil and cloudy mirrors become in our every day life, the more we lose control. That's what all of this comes down to, no matter what drug you choose-- you have the potential to develop an addiction, become dependent and you risk transforming into someone you don't recognize. You risk becoming an addict, just like the rest of us. It's only after you've lost control that you're able to see what damaged you've done and how permanent it was. Junkies, tweakers, stoners, alcoholics and pill heads; they're all just addicts desperately clinging to the last bit of control they have left.

When your skin is crawling off you or when the shadow people start to haunt you, just remember that we jumped on this train fully aware of where we were headed and some of us were just lucky enough to jump off before the crash. Some of us escaped, taking with us only a few tracks and unfortunately some won't be coming back.

I’m a drug addicted tweaker, shooting up meth all day because I thought maybe I was different, I thought it made life a little more bearable. I have no right to pass judgement on anyone else for doing the same exact thing. If one day I make it out of here alive, you won't catch me shaking my head at those who found escaping more challenging.

Why can't we be friends?
