How to spot an angel

It's not quite as simple
As the dimples on her shoulders

But the way her wings rise
with her arms froze, above her
In a tight fold

And her lids are closing over
That beautiful blue
So that you can't spot her
No she'll spot you

Chorus
She doesn't want the world to know her story
So she gives her halo to the boys she loves then flies away

that's all she does

In the remnants of her tears
She found a silver
heart she carved into her skin

That will never go away

And she loves you
Oh she loves you
Could she have expressed it in a way?
Maybe she was ashamed

But she dug her own grave
And that saved you a lot of effort
She hopes you won't cry
When you find out where she lays

And her lids are closing over
That beautiful blue
So that you can't spot her
No she'll spot you

Chorus
She doesn't want the world to know her story
So she gives her halo to the boys she loves then flies away

that's all she does

In the remnants of her tears
She found a silver
heart she carved into her skin

That will never go away

She tried to hide behind her past
But it seems her past was made of glass
and her casual stance
Lead them to harass her face

Her wings still gleamed
A midst the lights
And she defied religion as she died
Crossing over, changing sides
Stopped saving lives

It's not quite as simple
As the dimples on her shoulders
But the flicker in her eyes
'fore she closed them for the last time
