Sheer Ecstatic Sanity of Perfect Genius Sun

up before dawn
     without alarm
          looking out window
i saw through
     its dying darkness
          faint  red lights
blood  dim blush
     illumined across
          contoured bottom
vast  low blanket
     of cotton ball
          cloud filled sky
spread out
     in its subtle stealth
          like some benevolent
phantom presence
     of slumbering comfort
          some unexpected
deaf  mute guest
     who came in silence
          undetected  
sometime in the night
     hovering above us
          in our sleep
to shelter and shield
     us from ourselves
          down here below  
upon this little
     isle of sand
          to contain and secure
us safely beneath
     its subconscious spell
          within the relative
neutrality of all
     our random dreams
          to give this precious
wearied earth  
     as well as all
          of us  at least
this little bit
     of blessed  
          temporary relief
from ourselves
     intuitively sensing
          all of this
i quickly dress
     compelled to rush
          down to the beach
eager in some
     inwardly  hungry way
          to witness and receive
to open and release
     whatever new poems
          or heartfelt prayers
may come  into
     or through
          me there
simply by succumbing
     and surrendering
          so willingly to
the certain wonder
     of this rapidly
          unfolding
new dawn
     so as to savor
          more fully  
the sheer
     ecstatic sanity  
          in this now
fast approaching
     soon enough
          to blossom
perfect  
     genius
          sun
