Seagulls

(originally penned on March 22, 2002)

I can't see the way to you.
A Thousand Seagulls block my view.
Is it a straight-a-way,
or a dangerous, bumpy road to you?

Is it that I'm not supposed to see,
or that we were never meant to be?
Now it's turned to scandal:
a truck, full with it's load, covers my eyes...

I still can't see you, it's a shame!
(There's)no-one but myself to blame,
only because I can't rise above
these obstacles to you.

The Seagulls sit as still as the sun.
Should I give up? Am I done?
Should I try to find you,
or should I accept defeat?

The clouds now move into position
to block the sun from view.
The Gulls lift off the ground as one,
but now you're gone...   What do I do?

Were you there at all?
Or were you just imagination?
A Fairy Tale within my mind,
made up from my frustration?

Who knows?
