I am The Blur

You know that shadow,
the one you think is following you
the one your afraid of,
that shadow is me

I creep in black
seemingly a nothing
but I'm there
watching, waiting

you sense me
overwhelmingly
knowing when I'm close
knowing when to be afraid

I dance on your walls
just a shade, a dark blur
but I'm there
staring, at you

the umbra of your imagination
lives, and haunts
spins and taunts
across any and every blank surface

an overcast obscurity
hardly noticed
but I'm there
lurking around, I'll always be there

do not fear the dimness
embrace it
for it is yours
and yours alone

never will I leave your side
even when you wither and die
always there, shadowing you
watching and manipulating your every move
