Could, but won't.

I remember this feeling.
The smile at every text,
The babbling when I see you,
The way you never fail to cheer me up.
I could like you,
But I won't.

Usually, right about now,
I wouldn't text you first.
I'd wait for you to text me.
I'd keep you waiting for hours,
Then reply with a two word text,
Just to annoy you.
Just to get an extreme emotion out of you,
It doesn't take much to turn
Anger, irritation, frustration into lust.
I could be really cruel,
But I won't.

And I could text you rhyming couplets,
Send you flowers,
Shower you with presents,
With compliments,
With attention.
I could make you want me,
But I won't.

I can't work you out.
Whether you're bi, straight or
Indifferent doesn't matter.
Because it wouldn't matter,
Once I turned on the charm.
Call me cocky,
Call me arrogant,
Call me right.
Because I am.
I could charm you into thinking I was everything,
But I won't.

Because when I was done with you,
I'd discard you,
With cliche but so true lines.
'It's not you, it's me'
'I'll only hurt you in the end...
But we'll still be friends'
I could fall in love so easily,
But because it's you, I won't.
