Thoughts on Love

Love is a remarkably popular topic, for everyone not just the poets. Artists, musicians, dancers, playwrights, authors, etc., all of these people attempt to capture the essence of love in order to try and express the feeling/sensation/emotion, whatever we may choose to call it, brings out in us.

But What is Love?

1. a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
2. a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
3. sexual passion or desire.
4. a person toward whom love is felt; beloved person; sweetheart.

But of course, a  dictionary is just a heartless pile of pages and love is the most human thing of all. Right?

What about animals, do they experience love? And if they do, is it just that instinct to reproduce-to continue their species?

But than again, is that all what love really is for us, instinct? An illusion to mask the animosity contained within us all?

Let's not forget the lies we're forced to tell people we care about in order to protect them or to appear more attractive to the other person-even only to make them happy.

And then I could go further, into intentions when entering a relationship-whether it is right or wrong to enter a relationship with your only intent to satisfy an animalistic lust within, but I will simply stop here, for I think that I have said enough.
