I Watch You Still
A shy wallflower
in a lover's embrace
love was new
freshly blossoming
we were just discovering
ourselves and each other
you behind me
your rough hands
firm on my hips
my back arched in pleasure
you were blissfully unaware
that I watched you
in the dressing mirror
Our eyes met in reflection
and it was then
that moment
you really saw me
the real me
for the first time
a look of shocked surprise
a hesitation
then a smile spread
across your face
Your eyes burned straight to my soul in that instant
That look in your eyes
Oh, how that look changed me
freed my spirit to soar
ignited me, inspired me
fueled my desire
I was born again in that moment
that knowing look of pure acceptance
mirrored in a lover's eyes
That perfect memory will singe me always
To this day
every glance into a mirror
sends time rushing back
and I watch you still
