The Perfect Orphan

The orphan child
Not always so
But came apart
As he must grow
His two protectors
They grew apart
Leaving him
With a cold heart

The harshest eye
To look upon
The world that now
All color gone
And now to see
As truly is
This realm of life
That control is his

He sits and watches
As others still live
And when he's asked
Advices he gives
But it doesn't matter
What-to him-they say
For nothing can block
That saddest day

There was but one
An orphan girl
Who always could
Put his head in a whirl
The color started
To come on back
The return of life
And energy lacked

But one day on
The girl must leave
And there on our
The boy would grieve
The only one
Who make him live
And make his life force
Truly thrive

She had to leave him
All alone
And now his light
It barely shone
He felt much colder
Than ever 'forge started asking
"Where's the door?"

He started to hate
All aspects of life
And seeing couples
Added to strife
He tried so hard
To get away
He never could
Great wish he may

But then on one
Stupendous day
He opened his phone
And heard the orphan girl say
"One day I'll see you
And one day we'll smile
But just for right now
You have to wait for a while"

Tears filled his eyes
As he began to weep
Never had he been told
Something that sweet
He played it again
To make sure it was real
And just to again
Happiness feel

From that moment on
He tried to be bright
Tried to be happy
And live in the light
But moments did come
That he would slip
And darkness then come
And blood would drip

And when this would happen
He'd pull out his phone
Listen to the message
And feel not alone
Then his spirits
They would be high
Flying and soaring
They'd touch the sky

So one day he called her
For hours they talked
Connected so greatly
Down roads they walked
Then quickly and suddenly
She had to go
But promised the boy
That her love she'd show

A week had passed on
Or maybe a day
The boy had lost track
While in bed he lay
Waiting for her
To call him again
So the pain in his chest
For short time would end

Sharply and sudden
A "ding-dong" was heard
They not went to the door
And quietly murred
But to his surprise
When the door opened
He found himself
On the floor pinned

With a girl who looked vaguely
Like the one that he knew
On top of him staring
Her eyes to his glued
The she spoke gently
And the boy heard her say
"My love, perfect orphan,
I'm here now to stay."

His eyes stared blankly
And reared to the brim
After all they had gone through
She came back to him
Her arms wrapped around him
And his around her
He'd never let her go
Of this, he was sure

So they went on together
Living life to the max
Having adventures
All with knapsacks
They traveled together
In others' arms
Knowing forever
They were safe from harm

The colors that faded
Now had returned
And when she was by him
His stomach still churned
For his lover still made him
Feel like a boy
With all of her essence
Filling him with joy

And as they grew old
They settled down
Found a large house
On a nice side of town
And lived out their lives
Happy as could be
And when they went out
All could see

But in old age
As people always do
Their time came
To move on through
In sickness and hurt
But love greatest of these
Together at midnight
Eternal sleep brings them peace.
