Cast Away
As i continue this junk
That used to be my treasure
I wish i could take it away
Bury it forever
In a hole on an island
Not in my arm
Realizing I'm submerged in addiction
I wish i was not
X marks the spot
I bleed from my harm
This tree catches my rest
I stare at my palms
The regret washes up
My signal becomes faded
Starting fire with remanets
From bridges I've taken
As i sail through the wind
A little help from the sea
I wish i could sink this needle
In something besides me
Just like the ocean
This is bigger than i suspected
Wishing someone would storm in
Helping me to break it
Like a never-ending cycle
Addiction never goes away
Like the sun comes up
For me, mine does today

Another great piece pup. I liked the hole in an insland instead of my arm line and starting fires with remnants of bridges.. great metaphores. The honesty of people who have suffered with highly addictive substance use is so inspiring. These poems are sparking something in me but I'm not sure what yet...a new style in my writing perhaps.

Thanks dude.i habe suffered in the past.i didn't use a lot like my poems talk about,,however i can put myself in these situations.all i want to do is help and like u said inspire people.mainly addicts who still suffer..if my writings inspire changes in yours I'm am truly humbled and very grateful for your appreciation .thanks and i have four note books full and write more everyday.but i only get 2-per 8hrs so ....
