That Night, You Blinded Me (Mother)

You Were Gone All Day, Just Like Any Other, So I Wasn't Worried
But When You Came Home Your Breath Smelled Of Liquor,
And It Was Strong Because When You Would Talk The Smell Lingered.
I Haven't Seen You In A Few Days So I Followed You To The Kitchen To Catch Up,
Told You What I've Learned In School & Your Responses Didn't Hold Up.
You Made It Quick,
It Was Brief,
Because You Had Company Awaiting.
It Was A Man, I Was Sure. As You Closed Your Room Door Behind You.
I Went Into Mine & Turned Off The Light, Sat In The Corner & Put My Hand On The Wall. I Could Feel The Vibrations Build Up & Then They Would Fall. I Put My Ear Right Beside & Heard The Loud Thumps, Mother I Heard It All.
I Grew Angry & Tears Streamed Down My Cheeks. I Was Jealous,  I Felt That Nobody Should Touch You But Me. When I Hug You Or When You Hold My Hand To Cross The Street.
I Wanted To Be The Only One To Love You But I Guess My Love Was At Defeat With A Mysterious Man, That You Kept A Secret From Me.
Before You Closed The Door, I Tried To Get A Peek In & See. But That Was The Night, That You Blinded Me.
