Life

She walked along the embankment.

The chill of the deepening night

seeped into her bones along with

the thickening drizzle.  To her

right the traffic surged on

mindlessly, while the river before

her lapped in vast, unseen motion.

Beside her, had she cared to look,

a light could be viewed from many

lofty windows.  Ahead of her were

scents:  dark, dreary.
