They Came To Say Hello

The wind it screams
A song you know..

Branches sway
As it does blow
Dancing about
To and fro

The birds they came
To say hello.

Fading the sun's
Golden glow.

Parting clouds
That drift so slow ,
Painting the sky
Grey sorrow.

We sit an watch
The gentle rain
begin to flow .

The birds They came
To say hello.

We watched
From windows ,
Heard their call,
Feathers flutter
Than they fall.

Hide your dreams
Like I told you so.

The birds they
Came to say hello..

Painting the grass
Faded yellow..

Leaving confusion
Upon plenty young
Fellow..

Leaving moods
Sour not
Mellow..

Oh the sounds ..
Hear them bellow

From the streets below.

The birds they came
To say hello.

Ice it melts
Just as winter snow.

The ghost in the
Mirror
Puts on a show
Tilts his hat
He Now must go

The birds they came to
Say hello.

Are they friends
Or are the foe?
To whom the pleasure
Do we owe?
What you reap
You now must sow..

The birds they came
To say hello.

Someday you'll fear
Your desire to know
Someday when your
Head hangs a bit to low..

Life will feel like
A television show

You must pay Your
Respects to the crow

The birds they came to
Say hello.

From land you'll watch
A shadow show,
It's then you must
Start to let go.

It will Do you
Good to just lie
Low.

Watch for each stone That
You throw..

I'm sorry I had to
Tell you so..

But the birds they came to
Say hello.
