Deep Country

If you looked inside.
What would you find ?
A heart of gold.
A soul...black as the night.
Would you find this girl,
She always wants to fight.

When you search this world.
What do you find ?
A plague of war.
Few are true, most rotten to the core.
Do you find
For these things you strive
Have all been had before.

You're in deep country.
I'm not just what you see.
There is a raging sea.
Down inside of me.
There is no truth in our society.
Why would you think there'd be justice in deep country ?

If you looked inside.
What would you find ?
A heart of gold.
A soul, black as the night.
Would you find this girl,
She always wants to fight.
Would you find,
Her reasons don't always make her right.

You're in deep country.
I'm not just what you see.
There is a raging sea.
Down inside of me.
There is no truth in our society.
Why would you think there'd be justice in deep country ?
