Shadows
Darkness clinging tight to my heels
Fear gripping my throat; It's panic I feel
His huffing breaths send chills down my spine
My sounds of worry escape my lips in a whine
Down the dark alley, past the homeless and poor
Their gasps of shock make me tremble more
We reach a dead end; I turn around in a whirl
Chuckling deep in his throat, he rumbles, "Hello, little girl."
A blow to my head causes my knees to bend
Gun shots ring out and I have met my end
Fear gripping my throat; It's panic I feel
His huffing breaths send chills down my spine
My sounds of worry escape my lips in a whine
Down the dark alley, past the homeless and poor
Their gasps of shock make me tremble more
We reach a dead end; I turn around in a whirl
Chuckling deep in his throat, he rumbles, "Hello, little girl."
A blow to my head causes my knees to bend
Gun shots ring out and I have met my end
