Lady L

I look into her eyes, but they seem so far away
at times she let's me in and I get a glimpse
but there is so much yet that I cannot see
there is a burning in her soul from days gone by
from regrets and deeds that cannot be undone
I try to comfort and be a friend
but though she appreciates, still she will not let me in

in my mind I've comforted her a thousand times
have been there for her in her darkest times
but soon I awake and realize, that it has only been a dream
the days keep passing one by one, and nothing seems to change
I worry sometimes that it might be too late
that she has given up and will not try to reach higher
as if her fate is already cast
and she is locked to the life she leads

As if this is all she deserves, because of past mistakes
I want to shake her and tell her to stop the madness
to realize that life is such a precious thing
and though it sometomes doesn't work as we wish it would
we can never give up hope for a better day
take care my precious and never forget
like the stars in the night
you are someones shining light
