letter to the woman who prefers walking away
my woman says
i am just way different
than her and that i should try,
be more and think 'bout things
that are real, like bills
talks about
the fire that feeds the body
and whatnot
damn me
for all i seem to think about
is the fire that burns within
that keeps us alive in
the harsh winter of
life and the real thing, for me,
is love as somehow i had this
notion that things real don't
glitter or can't be held like
dreams and god
but yes, they
say we are different; though
science says otherwise and
there is empirical proof to
this, my love, if you just
believe me.
so, you see,
we are not so different
after all. unless of course the world
nails thoughts hard onto the wood
of your mind cos' then even jesus
will bleed and die and who am i,
my love,other than
what you think of
me and how
you know
me to
be
.
