A World Away from Town

In a scrappy little mound
He's a world away from town
And his bills fall on me
Like his blood on the ground

There are no jobs
Can't make a dime
I'll join the corps.
I'll serve my time
I'll hate enemy gods just as they'll hate mine

As gas fill up our tanks
I won't get a shred of thanks
And as the guns fire all around
And a child's broken on the ground

No matter how hard I fought
I'm gone, I have been shot
I'll leave my love,my whole world
Or shall my world leave me?

In a scrappy little mound
I'm a world away from town
At least the bills aren't on me
Though my blood is on the ground
