Winter's Darkness

She walks as if floating above the snow covered cobblestone street. The snow collects on her black laced parasol. She extends a hand to catch the flakes of winter. Her clothes are made of black silk, her skin is pale white; her metal reflects the light of the night.

I’m drawn to this woman, her power is her mysteriousness, my weakness is her.  I have to approach this figure in the night, She beckons me.  I can feel her eyes move up to meet mine, my heart begins to race, she smiles, baring her teeth still glistening red from her latest meal.

As I approach, her smile begins to fade, she becomes curious, almost confused, she knows………. She knows that my heart does not race out of fear, she places her hand to my chest, I look at her arms, she uses sleeves to cover her secret beauty, she knows I can see. She heavies the snow and strengthens the wind to blind me.

She slowly retreats, before she fades into the night, she turns to look at me one last time and smiles. Her gaze can bend me to her will, her warm smile comforts me and the memory of her breath against my neck shatters my very being…. As she disappears into the winter’s darkness.
