Grits, Pennies, and Bacon Grease

5am: I wake up to find that you’re still gone.

6:30am: you’re a no show, you let the sun
beat you home!

7:15am: anger has replaced the fear that something
has happened to you.
I told ya black ass the next time you stayed out all
night what I would do!

8am: I’m in the kitchen when you try to sneak in.
Words spilled from your mouth like diarrhea trying to
explaining where you been!

8:10am: I say “Wow Boo that’s crazy! I bet you’re
hungry after a tough night on the street.
Go get out those clothes, take a shower while I
fix you something to eat.

8:45am: I am pissed times infinity!
Rationale no longer exist neither does sensibility!

9am: he yells out “damn baby that food smells
Good! I got something for you, come get a piece of
this wood!”

9:02am: I yell back “yeah Boo that sounds righteous
I’ll be there soon to get a piece.”
I walked in smiling, rage still rising as I served
His body grits, pennies, and bacon grease!
