Kissing You Back

Across the cosmos,
hungry for your lips,
my mouth yearns
and burns a bursting
hot mountain
of flames.

Lips that seize up
the natural tide,
arms that reach out
beyond the divide,
body contracting
and heart so reacting,
this is the cliff
from which we must dive.

I can see from this height
the darkness of stars
that guide us by night,
and this is the path
that we take in our flight
as I kiss you back
on your beacon of light.
