The Drowned

How small can I make myself
If I curl up real tight,
Shrink into myself,
And levy the night?

Would I fit through the cracks
Left by the blows?
Could I travel unseen
Between all the rows?

Would the abyss welcome
This small sense of me,
Hand my the locks,
Allow me to hide the key?

What venues would I find
Deep in this dark?
Could I uncover,
The truth to my own heart?

Who would dare
Search for me here,
Flee the day
To pursue the fear?

I can only decide, let me stay
On this cushion of night
Where the world below
Drowns in the light
