Find Your Inner Owl
Which should I choose?
I know not what lies beyond
These doors; Could it be a ruse?
Of this situation I am not quite fond...
Upon the first is a snake.
Its fangs are bared and dripping venom,
It looks like my life it could take;
I'll admit that choosing this might be dumb.
Upon the second is a bear.
It has long black claws,
I would not dare
To pick this door to end up in its jaws...
Upon the third is a deer.
Its antlers branched out like trees;
At this door I did closely peer.
Perhaps this is the one for me.
But upon the next was an owl.
It had saucer eyes of gold
And wore feathers like a cowl.
It was truly a sight to behold.
This is the door I chose
If it were a mistake, I would not know
So I'll tread lightly on my toes
And watch intently where I go.
This path I walk is rather straight;
I see a huge tree down the road.
As I near, I hesitate.
Now this is the true beginning of my ode.
The great owl looked at me wisely
From his perch upon the grand tree.
His littlest talon as big as me,
But he is harmless as can be.
In fact, this magnificent creature
Happens to be my Guardian spirit, I'm sure,
As we stand and look each other eye to eye.
I know not what lies beyond
These doors; Could it be a ruse?
Of this situation I am not quite fond...
