Pieces,

Falling down, down to the ground,

Landing on the pavement making not a sound.

Scattering across a wasteland in our mind,

Some just stay there hoping to be left behind.

We never find those broken pieces anyway,

They're left inside that waste to wither and decay.

The lucky ones become just thoughts of yesterday,

To rest inside our mind in that old trophy display.

No one really understands the value of a fall.

We have to fall to get back up and learn how to stand tall.

Cause many pieces break away and leave an open space,

But over time someone will come and fill it with their grace.

Pieces,

Shedding from our body as skin sheds from a snake,

Shedding to reaveal new scales that take much more to break.

We're all just complex puzzles that change before they're whole,

We all look for our missing pieces that fell from our controll.

But while we look for fallen parts we find our picture's changed,

So we stand to admire our new pieces, even if they're strange.

Soon we realize, JUST like snakes, we constantly shed skin,

Only what we shed is "mental skin" that builds stronger within.

It leaves us shining brighter and feeling better, too,

Peeling from us past endeavours and pushing us to new.

So dont be scared to fall apart all over the ground,

You'll find, once you collect yourself, you are no longer bound.

Surely you will fall again, once your pieces have grown old,

But as sure as you will fall again, another puzzle will unfold.
