Error on the Screen

The light bends,
around my face
shielding  
the world,
from this disgrace
 
an error message
on the screen,
some anomaly
has crawled  
into being
 
a glitch
in the system,
born from
useless data,
forgotten in haste
 
unchecked
this virus spreads
it's fever
and sleepless nights
 
trying to explain
what happened
to your life,
who is the stranger  
standing in the mirror?
 
but the questions
never get any clearer,
until one day you wake up
and you just don't know
what to do
 
try mumbling words,
but nothing  
ever comes out of you
 
lay paralyzed in bed
your dreams are only
discoloring the picture
but the screens been fucked
you can see the difference in the shades
the green refuses to come in
and the brightness is no longer the same

all the keystrokes and codes you know
won't retrieve the data that's been erased
the person who is alive and pristine
is lost and been replaced
and all that remains is an error on the screen
