My Star
Star in the sky
can you tell me why
it seems I've lost my mind?
speak of ancient stories of old
of hidden treasures and lost gold
yet you just stare silently
what was the reason
you couldn't be with me?
My head has turned
towards somebody else
will you fight for me
or have you already set me free?
my star
there you sit stoic
passive to my calls
unnerved by my cries
my star
you seem so far away
I fly towards you
but my wings freeze middair
and I fall back to my frozen world
that still yearns for your warmth
my star
so far
already gone
already...
forgotten.

This seems to me so basic to human nature that it has a native or aboriginal feeling to it....I love the sense of looking out into the cosmos and looking for sense and answers....a really straight talk look into original consciousness.

why thank you, runningturtle. I try not to look for answers in the sky since there never is any, but I guess that's what hopelessness leads to.

Nice use of the star! Something that's distant and won't respond, adds a very symbolic touch :)
