Don't Look Back.

Oh, I'm quite at peace with it nowadays.
Been getting it "checked out" for years now.
What was depression was actually a soft rage
I've been falling down for years now

And I just wish I knew how, wish you knew how
There was a bellow from my cage
It blew the dust from my hair, and gave me quite a scare
But then I felt peaceful, enjoying my youthful age

But the dust has collected again, and all I'm doing is being patient
I say, I don't look back in anger, don't look back, it's contagious

Love is all, and all I say is what my heart writes on pages
that I just throw away at the end of the day
and I burn them with the bic I light my joints with
Along with the comments you write to me

You think you've got some permanent paint to write all over people?
when you feel you've gotten a cue, you pull out your brushes and sling!
Well, that's okay, me too.
I'll just take off my clothes and burn 'em, wash off your acrylic blacks & reds

It's just like I said, I've been getting it checked out for years.
At the end of the day, all I've ever learned from is pain & dread.

Live on, stranger. Even if you do, I won't look back in anger.
