Should've Listened
For three years I coveted
Your heart in others hands
I was never good enough
To meet your demands
Then you illuminated the "no"
On my heart's vacancy sign
Looked up at me, asking
"Do you want to be mine?"
Blushing, I quietly said yes
I was happy the rest of the day
Uncaring of the warnings I'd heard
I didn't care what they'd say
Now I realize that I should've listened
To Haylea, Chance, and Chris
Rumors whispered into my ears
Saying its me you'd never miss
Your heart in others hands
I was never good enough
To meet your demands
Then you illuminated the "no"
On my heart's vacancy sign
Looked up at me, asking
"Do you want to be mine?"
Blushing, I quietly said yes
I was happy the rest of the day
Uncaring of the warnings I'd heard
I didn't care what they'd say
Now I realize that I should've listened
To Haylea, Chance, and Chris
Rumors whispered into my ears
Saying its me you'd never miss
