The river

Sitting.
Thinking.
Meditating.
Listening to my breathing.

Slowly inhaling,
The scents of the morning.
The sweet scent,
Of freshly fallen leaves,
And with a hint of a recent rain.

I sit under a willow,
The tree of dreams,
By a river,
So crystalline and pure,
With a song so sweet and soothing,
It lulls the soul to a calm and peaceful time.

Slowly exhaling,
I breathe out my harmful memories.
All my mistakes, all my regrets,
Evaporate in the breeze.

Awakening,
I slowly walk into the river,
The cool soft water climbing up,
As I proceed.

As the water hits my shoulders I stop.
The crystal clear water,
So cool on my body,
Flows away from me.
All of my mistakes,
All of my hatred,
Flows down and out of my body,
As if the water not only cleaned my body,
But cleansed the depths of my soul.
