What is it that you
would like to know,
that to the world
I have not told?

Is there something
you would like to see,
that I have not
already shown?

There are many who thought
they knew what you seek,
who assumed that many years,
meant they knew all about me.

I am so, so much more
than pretty nails and hair,
more than my generous curves
or my savoir-faire,
my old school eccentricities
or attitude of devil may care.

The reality is… I am injured
and my wound is deep,
I am lost in a world
that just does not see.

I have moments when
the fear is overwhelming
yet no one knows
and I am not telling.

I am missing the other half of me,
that one special soul
who would make me complete,
the one God has made with care
to share my life with,
to always be there.

I Yearn for little things,
things I do not have;
to feel alive without
being told I… already am.

So where are you love,
the one person I should have?
Where are you hiding?
I await, with outstretched hands…
