A sad reminiscence

Blue.
Deep blue fading into shades of yellow.
Yellow.
Silent yellow melding with rays of orange.
Orange.
Intense orange infusing with glows of red.
Red.
Passionate red leaking into the centre of the blue.
Blue.

It reflects all the colors from the broad sky.
That blue ocean,
Weaved with the colors of the sunset.

Laying down upon the sand,
So cool on my back,
The southern winds keeping me warm,
As I stare,
Into that sunset I shall never forget.

A tall pillar of rocks at the shore,
Holds a tree and a statue.
A sad, lonely statue.
Her hair, eternally waving in the wind.
Her face always looking to the sunset,
Forever waiting,
For that ship that will never come.
That tragic tale,
Keeps me enticed to the sunset,
Until I drift asleep,
To the song of the waves.
