Crumble
Turn off the lights and sit with me
Here, silent until another dawn
This darkness will grab hold
And the walls will crumble
Our skin will shed like the skyline
A poisonous horizon we can’t bear
But we reach towards it, arms outstretched
Trying to get back what we lost
The roads not taken are taunting
Screaming so endlessly to give up
And it’s our worst fear, our worst flaw
But our destiny, nonetheless
We’ll give in to this cruel world, as it was written
Then grow sick upon its bloodied soil
All the while, the irony is hard to grasp
When it’s killing us at every corner
And at the last moments, we’ll be here
So silent, we can hear ghosts from before
Trapped in perpetual darkness
As we will be, for we shall crumble away
Here, silent until another dawn
This darkness will grab hold
And the walls will crumble
Our skin will shed like the skyline
A poisonous horizon we can’t bear
But we reach towards it, arms outstretched
Trying to get back what we lost
The roads not taken are taunting
Screaming so endlessly to give up
And it’s our worst fear, our worst flaw
But our destiny, nonetheless
We’ll give in to this cruel world, as it was written
Then grow sick upon its bloodied soil
All the while, the irony is hard to grasp
When it’s killing us at every corner
And at the last moments, we’ll be here
So silent, we can hear ghosts from before
Trapped in perpetual darkness
As we will be, for we shall crumble away
