unloved

"Unloved" was a thought I had
that left me without speech,
alone
misunderstood
and all
and sitting on the beach.

The waves rolled in
and brought a bottle
filled with just a note;
and so I took it out and read
the words that someone wrote,

"Let your heart be open
and look out to the sea,
for somewhere on horizons lost
you're looking out at me.

I'm the one who's waiting
and hope you get here soon
the strong winds are ablazin'
the season says typhoon.

This may be my last request
and if you find my note
promise me you'll live your life
and make your heart my boat."
