The Prodigal Poet
A warm welcome back to the Jungle of DU
A sincere and humble thanks to every one of you
Duncan and Levi were among the first two
then my lovely Brandy, “Baby, I love you”
Starlight and Heslopian were very influential
The rest of you sent messages that were all essential
I often missed you all whilst I was away
yet some of us grew closer in many other ways
Maybe I should stop the rhymes
so I don’t give Cruel a heart attack
Hell, he won’t read me anyway
but it’s still pleasant to be back
I haven’t heard a story why I left
that contained an ounce of fact
but I’ve heard a few of them
which are completely whacked
One had me back in rehab
Another had me on the streets
One had me licking wounds
from a war of words defeat
Many changes in my life
can sometimes be confusing
and here in my poetic home
is where I’ll share such musings
Author's Note: This poem may come off as somewhat arrogant but that was hardly the intention. I'm truly grateful for all of you who asked me to return and quite frankly I was surprised at how many of you there were. Every time I received a facebook message or phone call from each of you it wore me down a little more and it was a week or so ago that I decided I'd return. Just had to handle that personal affair first. :)

Thank you dear. That was hardly my A Game though. It's been a while since I used a rhyme scheme and I thought it would be a fun experiment. It was fun but a short experiment which will be followed by plenty of free verse. It's good to be back. I missed most of you all.

Thank you for the comment Jack. Even more thanks for being one of the main reasons I returned. Our friendship, although just online, is one that I greatly value and your opinion of me as a writer is something I put a lot of stock into. I love ya brother.

Well look who's joined the rhymey bottom feeders! ;)
This is fun, I enjoy these tribute type poems.
For all of the things we don't like here, we can definitely attest to the fact that there's no place like DU when it comes to poetry sites.
Welcome home love <3

Yeah, I'm slummin' with the bottom feeders baby. I kinda miss it down here. Haha! Yes, this is defintely a solid poetry site. The only thing I don't really care for here are those who are dishonest and judgemental, especially if they happen to also be a retard with diarreah of the mouth who has abused animals, a predatory and obsessive wet fucking bastard, or a closet emo chick who attempts to hide her emotional instability behind a slightly above average level of intelligence and an inflated vocabulary that is only rivaled by her ego. Otherwise, this place is aces with me. ;)
Love ya,

Haha! I thought you'd enjoy that bit of commentary on the triple headed DU monster that we like to call "The Royalty."

Thanks a lot, Kris. I just noticed this comment today, six months after the fact.
