The Conjuring

Ghostly moaned whispers fill the air
chanting omens to all, beware.
Hear their voice, heed them well
or you shall hear the death knell.

Shades slither round the candles light
roused to prowl the dead of night.
They seek the foolhardy and unwise,
the dark master coveted prize.

Specters lurk within these walls
and wander these unhallowed halls.
Wail, screech, howl and moan,
their spirit forfeited for sins untold.

Cursed are all in this evil domain
with mortal woes, sorrows and pain.
The damned, accursed and profane
steep the walls with evil in this domain.

So on this, the thirteenth hour,
a witch prepares her flex her power.
Her incantations strike fear in heart
of ill-fated mortals taking part.

Get thee away from this unholy sin!
And thus her conjuration begins:

“Cauldron blazing in the fire
blackened flames grow ever higher
tongue of toad and wing of bat
mixed within this bubbling vat.”

“Raven’s claw and serpents scale
dragon’s blood and scorpion’s tail
plague of nightmares I invoke
rise up from the ash and smoke.”

“Spider’s web and eye of newt
viper’s venom and mandrake root
harken ye to my command
come forth to haunt these withered lands”

“Unleash thyself from depths black as night
slither crawl and take thee to flight
and in the darkest midnight hour
come gather round the witches tower!”

Too late… be of it forever an elemental part,
like a fly trapped in amber, never to depart.
