Melancholia

I want to hymn all the way home,
I want to pace back and forth,
the road,
to a melody that stands still,
that lasts even when,
erosion churns us all the way.

I have seen such stranger fires,
I've had such beautiful daughters
but the murmer is so solemnly quiet,
the silence you granted,
I pursue it,
granted I'm given eternity,
to fester in a moribund immortality.
I guess it's too early,
today I persuade a fray.
chaos is the only way,
how am I to pertain this everlasting,
need, necessary to breathe.
It's too early to taste, hear,
say.
I've found myself forever this way,
broken and led astray.
These are the lies I claim.
