The watcher and the elf

The watcher watches as a figure runs among the trees
But only sees so much but maybe never sees.
The guardian guards a figure at the gate with a tight but gentle touch
So the fine, young elf won’t get too close and find the gate too much.

The wizard will use his mighty might of spells and potions and songs from yesterday
To help the elf with saddened eyes while all his notions begin to find their way.
There is no doubt he will succeed as near and far
Might sometimes be an in–between.
He writes his words of song as the blackened depth
Of magik reaches him from the stars.
The words unfold and so the story of the elf is told.

A healing from within with tools from days of old,
The moon will rise as full again with healing taking place,
A taking of self-control again with a pleasant smile upon his elfish face!

The earth will hold his aching bones and cradle all his undertones.
The wind will rise above the skies to freshen up a sadness deep within his eyes.
A new flame will light by fire and wake up his lost desires.
Oceans swell, a cool and salty, earthy smell
To help the story of the elf begin to tell.

The elf has magik in his words and rhymes
And sings them in the forest for all of time.
His thoughts, his feelings, his emotions too
Will cry and scream and whisper to a shout.
But, mark my words!
They will get out and through!

In the forest we hear the words become a song.
The elf has spoken from his deep within and done no wrong.
His heart will open up and let us in.
Fireflies are abound to play with him again.
He’ll dance among the trees and through the air without a care.
He’ll sing his song, the one that's always been around and there.
He knows the watcher and the guardian of the gate
Will watch and guard the elf, but not too late.
With a soft shadow of a whisper and a smile of a dance in the moonlight air
For just a little while,
Yes, the elf, I do suppose he knows the watcher has found him there
And watches close!
