A hippie who never wore a colourful bandana
A late bloomer he was,
with nothing much to say.
Sitting by the corner of
his favourite coffee shop
wishing for world peace
but he never wore a
colourful bandana.
Note: this is the first time i've written anything of this sort. Please bear with me until
I learn the skill.

I see what you mean. Is sweet, sad and brilliant.
It could work for me. But in my case I had green punky hair.

Uma, i don't deserve your praise surely. I wouldn't say he's an extremist but a rather passive hippie as he sits at the corner of the coffee shop rather than go out and fight for his beliefs. I appreciate your interpretation nevertheless. It reminds us that everyone's different and we should encourage this diversity.

I like your word placement here "world peace" which may have a parallel obejective to the central character in your poem who is also not fighting but silent. So the appeal for peace is truly apparent. Brilliant knock Ophie!!!

To me, this is a remarkable poem just the way it is. You don't need practice in writing this type of poem. You have a natural gift for it. I like this poem even better than some of your longer ones, which I like, too, but some of the longer ones do not have the consistency, insight, flow and metaphor this shorter one does. Thank you for this gift to me, my friend.
