Guardian Of the Dead

I am guardian of the dead,
damned and the dying.
Sentinel and gate keeper
of the garden of death,
I escort those departing life,
to their last place of rest.

Witches, Santeros,
Vodoun Priests
and Shamen alike
all pay homage to me
fore I am the last entity
they want to see in this life.

I will brook no trespass
against those in repose,
the foolhardy soon learn
life and death are ever so close,
that disturbing the dead
will earn you a plot instead.

Humans are animals,
they are brute creatures
who kill each other for power,
coin or the envy of petty minds,
not knowing these things do not
guarantee peace in the afterlife.

I am Oya/St.Brigitte
guardian of the dead,
damned and the dying.
Sentinel and gate keeper
of the garden of death,
I escort those departing life,
to their last place of rest.
