Autumnal rains (LLUVIA OTOŅAL)
On this leaden autumnal morning
copiously the heaven complains
the water rushes headlong towards
the bridge, swift, agile, impatient.
En esta otoņal maņana plomiza
Se lamenta el cielo copiosamente
El agua calle abajo se desliza
Hacia el puente, rauda, ágil, impaciente.
The sidewalks slippery leaves
makes walking safe, apparent.
The battering treacherous wind
propels, the way currents moves water.
La acera con hojas, resbaladiza
Y caminar seguro es aparente
Golpea el viento, traicionero atiza
Te lleva como al agua la corriente.
The sky is sooty, ash colored,
as rain falls, cadencingly.
In these lands this is not foreign,
It is habitual, it sins with arrogance.
El cielo tiznado, color ceniza
Y cae lluvia, cadenciosamente
En esta tierra no es advenediza
Es habitual, peca de prepotente.
Even if melancholy bedevils
it invades you not with homesick torrents,
because this autumnal scene represents
a revulsive, propitious brilliance.
Aun cuando la melancolía hechiza
No te invade la saudade en torrente
Porque presenta esta escena otoņiza
Un revulsivo propicio y fulgente.

That is, it's being condescending is the root-base of it's sin, following "cadencingly."

Well sir first observe this is not my piece, second "arrogance" not "condescension" is the correct translation, not all translators are good, most actually suck big time and should never be used.
I cross referenced the word with the "DICCIONARIO DE LA LENGUA ESPAŅOLA" From "La Real Academia Espaņol" RAE and VOX English Spanish dictionary to make sure it was the correct word.
The word "prepotente" means dominance/arrogance not condescension: n, the act or an instance of behaving in a "patronizing" way(in spanish is to sponsor)so it does not mean the same nor does it translate the same.

It's marvelous how you can stick to the rain, never vary, although have multiple meanings regarding the rain. A great read. I love the picture, which really represents the poem.

Isn't though, my friend is a good poetess but she doesn't believe me so I wanted to show her that she was.Her only disadvantage is, she does not dominate English, so there you have it. Thanks Grace
