Rough around the edges

A man- rough around the edges;
My doors creek from rusted hinges
I need as much time as space-
I'm with empty pockets, and a dusty book shelve...
Memories fall daily, I forget the determination
So I uncuff some desires- surely an abomination

I hesitate- in times of fear,
And when ashamed, my face I cover
Momentarily, I get carried away
My foot becomes rooted;
when confronted- my heart,
like a pendulum- sways

In danger zones, my pulse races
in that it crushes my chest-
But in the comfort of my home,
it cuddles under Silent's veil
and savours its temporary rest

The ever-moving
artistic beauty of clouds is enough
to lighten my burden;
Yet my eyes water
when I realise
I'm not yet ready for heaven;

I still chew before I swallow
And I look before I leap;
I doubt on roads that are narrow
That I would love to hear the angels speak...

(Once more into fray...
A belt below my dying day.
I'll incline to truth and patience
And forever hold my way...)
