God

Some people are so certain
that there is a man in the sky.
A great man who knows everything
that ever was, is and ever will be.
He can see us all and he loves us all.
This great man in the sky is
coveted by some, hated by others.
He is all-knowing, all-powerful
and present in all parts of the Earth.

He is loving but can strike a
whole country down with great
forces of wrath beyond human comprehension.
He can cause pain or he can prevent it.
You can survive death because it is his will,
or you can die before your time.
He is compassionate but yet the ultimate judge.
The provider and also the one who will
take it away.

So many people
countries
religions
believe in different versions of him,
fight wars over him.
Kill for him,
kill because of him.

Individual swear by his name
and swear using his name.
Some love this "loving" god
while some hate him.
He creates and destroys.
Gives and takes away.

Does such a being really exist?
A being that can create such beauty
and also cause great destruction?
I am not so convinced.
