Criticize

They see what’s in your heart,
When they look into your eyes,
They pass judgment on others,
But it’s in their nature to criticize.

They can peer into your head,
Deeper than you’ve ever gone,
They see the things you’ve kept back,
So no one knew there was something wrong.

They see you, for who you really are,
A monster that destroys everything,
They can see the scars on your body,
From years of pain that still has the sting.

They will criticize you for all you’ve done,
You can’t take that power from them,
Because they are a part of you,
And you’ll kill yourself in the end.

You see the things that criticize you,
Are closer than you think,
They are the voices in your head,
That criticize to push you to the brink.
