Little chair

Little chair sits alone.

He is not polished or shined
like the other chairs around him.

People dont like to sit on him
as his wood is old
sometimes he gives splinters

without even knowing.


His left leg is ready to snap
he cannot hold any persons weight.

The other chairs ignore him and laugh.

They are great and strong ones
who legs are steady and still.

No matter how big the person  
they never move
you never hear a crack.

Little Chair does wish he could be strong
carry his own people

for someone to appreciate him
use him all the time.

He wants to tell the other chairs

I dont want to be like this
it is just the way I am.


He wishes they would understand him

even give him some hints
on how to be a stronger chair.

The other chairs dont care
its all about themselves
if they look good
how strong they can be.


So Little Chair decides to move
right away he hides.

In the dark where know one can see him
 know one can hurt him  or laugh.

The other Chairs have no idea where he is

some do not even realise he has disappeared.


Months go past
Little Chair is still in the dark.

Dust collecting on him
still little still weak.


A Little Girl comes along

she sees something in the dark.

Its the Little Chair  
she love him straight away.

She picks him up
places Little Chair in her room

She wipes him  down
gives him a little shine.


Little Chair is happy
and amazed he cant believe she has done all this.

Little Chair begins to worry
if the little girl will sit on him

He is scared that  
she will slip and also get splinters.


The Little Girls is wise
knows Little chair has a broken leg

She places her soft fluffy teddy bear on top of Little Chair

" This is where my teddy will always sit "

Little Chair is happy surprised
the Teddy's light weight
has not made him tip

He realises that someone did care
finally someone understood

And took him for who he was.
