Reminiscing on my past 
Feeling sorry for myself
Can't help it 
It's just a burden I can't escape

One memory still brings it back
A good one too but hurts the same
I was talking to my brother from the other side of the door 
He made me laugh
Mixed emotions hit quick
I felt odd
Frightened
Like I did something wrong

He sensed it 
Put his fingers under the cracks for me to hold
Gave me a feeling like I finnaly had a person
It scared me
Being happy was just a fairytale to me
Only bad people lived in my reality
No king no queen
Just a drunken villain and his whores

Pinky promise he said 
wiping my nose on my sleeve 
I latched on to his chubby pinky 
     And pinky promised him 
That we'd live happily ever after
