Blindfolded Art

"Remember it all, every insult, every tear. Tattoo it on the inside of your mind. In life, knowledge of poisons is essential. I've told you, nobody becomes an artist unless they have to.”

buckets of cyanide spew from behind your teeth
impregnating my mind with pearlescent paints
I draw the everlasting poison up through my pen
and etch your onyx colored lies over my grey walls

I scribble the painful scars onto my cortex
frantically working nonstop on the new graffiti
slashing below the surface entering the bloodstream
while garnet stained flesh drips like melted icicles

I plead for a break from your endless venom
you oblige me and I strip away my blindfold
astonished by the masterpiece I have composed
I self-destruct to make you my permanent muse
