Bloodied Waves
Been able to slow the bleeding
Sea all drenched in blood
Insanity now receding
Though I’m still drowning in this flood
The pain has left me somber
More acutely aware
Freezing heart is now calmer
Still, it’s a heavy wound to bear
I pretend not to see
So tired from the strain
The sharks that circle around me
In-frenzied by the stain
But I’ve played this game
I keep them away with quiet conviction
Treading this pain
Despite all its friction
I know the waves will rumble
And try my weakened state
And I’ll do my best to stay afloat
To be rebellious against my fate
I will survive this blood shed
My heart will endure
Despite the murky waters
And the saving that’s obscure
I’ve been able to slow the bleeding
The pain has cleared the shroud
And I know now somewhere out there
That healing will be allowed
If only I keep on swimming
And ignore the heavy toll
Keep a bright perspective
Despite the waves that roll
Then peace will surely find me
I have left a trail of red
And to solid ground
Will my weary soul be led
Sea all drenched in blood
Insanity now receding
Though I’m still drowning in this flood
The pain has left me somber
More acutely aware
Freezing heart is now calmer
Still, it’s a heavy wound to bear
I pretend not to see
So tired from the strain
The sharks that circle around me
In-frenzied by the stain
But I’ve played this game
I keep them away with quiet conviction
Treading this pain
Despite all its friction
I know the waves will rumble
And try my weakened state
And I’ll do my best to stay afloat
To be rebellious against my fate
I will survive this blood shed
My heart will endure
Despite the murky waters
And the saving that’s obscure
I’ve been able to slow the bleeding
The pain has cleared the shroud
And I know now somewhere out there
That healing will be allowed
If only I keep on swimming
And ignore the heavy toll
Keep a bright perspective
Despite the waves that roll
Then peace will surely find me
I have left a trail of red
And to solid ground
Will my weary soul be led
