Love's Seven Stages

Seven stages of love…
1. हब
Hub – Attraction
A meeting of the eyes, the sound of a voice, the words that we read…

“Will it be what I see; maybe what I read, the scent of your body
or how you speak that pulls me in? What ever the formula,
your presence has captured me.”

“The heart’s fire is hard to kindle,
but once ignited it is impossible to extinguish”

2. उन्स
Uns – Infatuation

The stage in which fantasy and reality blur and blend together
a passage to another level of interaction, one, experiences it yet,
the other must trigger it; inhibitions and fears slowly melt becoming nonexitant…

“Restless sleep, my dreams are filled with thoughts of you
and all the fantasies I wish would come true. Things I would never
admit out loud run rampant in my mind without making a sound.”

3. इश्क़
Ishq – Love/Communion

The pinnacle of ecstatic feelings the most blissful of all stages,
once this threshold is crossed the bliss commences its decline,
our humanity gets in the way by projecting our thoughts and feelings
into the other person.

“A divine design, that renders us deaf, mute, dumb and blind.
Wars have been started in its name; lives have been lost when it’s a game.
Poetries, prose and quatrains have been written to express the passions it inflames.
Will this be my cures divine? Or will it be one more scar on my heart and mind?”

4. अक़ीदत
Aqeedat – Intimacy/ Reverence

The physical and spiritual merge, sexual and spiritual become one
all boundaries abolished between the lover and the beloved.
In intimacy we share ourselves in trust, a total surrender of yourself to another,
true intimacy can be frightening.

“Humble I submit to its command, unable to fight, run or make demands.
Amazed how hearts begin to change with just the mere mention of the author,
of the protagonists’ focus of attention, the desire to consummate our union,
to get lost in the passionate oblivion of this communion. ”

5. इबादत
Ibaadat – Worship/ Surrender

We relinquish ourselves, some of our individuality to lose ourselves
in the other person, a duality, two halves of one whole, here the misconcept
is that attachment is love when in reality it is loves anathema.
Once attachment is surpassed a deeper more pure path
to love can be achieved, in freedom.

“With every syllable I profess my feelings in your congress
unable to love another now, I only see you, from sunup to sundown.
You are my sun and my moon you are everything I have perused.”

6. जूनून
Junoon – Obsession/Passion

Here the danger is the lose of your identity entangling yourself hopelessly with the object of your obsession yet the other side of that coin is the experience of merging masculine and feminine energies within one body, aligning us with our souls core. True spiritual passion is not the same as desire based passion; true passion is not for anything, but in and of itself, the birth place of unlimited, pure creation.

“Your absence in my life creates madness and strife, sure, I am that which you can compare to no other, I would rather die than be in this struggle. Yet within your arms the passion is all consuming, I submit and capitulate to the fire that within me you create. It is like a supernova created in the universe transporting us to a realm of ecstasy unparalleled.”

7. मौत –
Maut – Ecstacy/Death

Literal or figurative (destruction of ego, singularity)a climax, the lover destroys his self-identity,  his sense of I. The lover (he) and the beloved (she) unify and become one in the climactic finite moment. In its truest form, unconditional love, all the stages coalesce here, the transcendence of all the sensual pleasures proclaiming themselves into a new field of consciousness.

“In an end there are also new beginnings, but a, me without you or a, you without us, creates a silence, the abyss of eternal sleep created by your absence. It is in the moment of ecstasy that we truly meet, two individual spirits starved of passion ascend and release in unison becoming one.”

“A person who exhibits both positive and negative qualities, who has strengths and weaknesses, is not flawed, but complete. When you accept this, when instead of always working on your weak points, you begin to release guilt and shame that are the real culprits, you will become immensely attractive, for nothing is more desirable than this naturalness that radiates simple unaffected humanity, blemishes and all. Being human has long been seen through tragic eyes, yet with a shift in perception being human is the essence of being lovable.” – Deepak Chopra
