A Truly Remarkable Change

The classy, long haired blonde
attempting to leave the store with unpaid for lingerie
stuffed hurriedly into her pocket
didn't believe she'd been observed--
but then invariably, the ones who get caught
always act on impulse, don't they?

And so when I gripped
the soft flesh of her arm
to lead her firmly back inside,
her initial reaction was desperate,
indignant surprise
quickly followed by a bemused whimper of dismay.

It was the usual story.
She sat meekly in my office,
after the heated denial, a tearful confession.
She knew how stupid she'd been
and offered to pay, of course.
Her husband would kill her if he ever found out,
even the hint of a police record
might destroy a promising career.

If only I would let her go,
it was just this once.
She had learned her lesson
and would never do anything
so utterly foolish again.

Blah, blah, blah...
How many times
had I heard it all before?

Spread out on the desk,
exhibit A and exhibit B
the low cut designer silk panties
and a matching DD cup brassiere
in wishful pink
retailing at more than 400 dollars the pair
stared back at us both in silence.

It was then
that a smile flickered nervously
across her full red lips.

Supposing I were to...
try
those
on for you?
she murmured.

Somehow in that moment,
her voice had acquired the surest tonality
-- a truly remarkable change.

Before me now was a woman
who could spread
a special kind of butter on her tongue
at the drop of a dainty finger
and have it melt
her own sensual magic in the air
until her words oozed all over you
in a dollop of sugary cream.

I noticed how slowly
she began crossing and uncrossing her legs
and wondered if under that skirt
she was wearing anything...
anything at all.

Why don't you lock that door,
she whispered
twirling a handful of long blonde hair
through delightfully slender fingers
with the playfulness of a kitten
longing to be stroked
in all its favorite places at once

She was hot alright
the sizzle from those baby blue eyes
would be enough to fry the thickest T-bone in Texas
but with a hard lump in my throat
I realized
that loyalty to my company
just had to come first.
